Prosecution to call ‘Star Witness’ in Vybz Kartel murder case

Embattled Dancehall superstar, Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer faces a very tense return to court next month when the Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams trial is expected to commence.

According to several reports, the prosecution in the Williams murder case will call on a ‘star witness’ who could cause big problems for Kartel and his defense team. The witness, whose name has been withheld for safety reasons, is allegedly the other man that was taken to a Havendale residence alongside Williams as they were made to answer queries regarding some missing, illegal guns.

Reports state the witness was supposed to be killed alongside Williams that day in August 2011 when the murder took place. However, he escaped harm.

The Crown insists they have evidence proving their witness was at the Havendale home during Williams’ killing. Williams was allegedly beaten to death after he was unable to answer questions surround the missing guns, with Kartel along with Calvin ‘Moonie’ Haye, Kahira Jones, Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell and Shane Williams all accused of participating in his death.

Prosecutors have long claimed that they possess video and audio evidence linking that prove Kartel an the four co-accused participated in Williams' murder.

Vybz Kartel and the co-accused are expected to stand trial in the Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams matter on January 21, 2013. The entertainer remains housed at the Horizon Remand Centre in Spanish Town as he also faces a conspiracy charge pertaining to the case as well as a separate charges in relation to another murder case.

Reggae & Dancehall superstar Busy Signal has earned another great achievement in his illustrious career. The artiste’s latest album ”Reggae Music Again” has been listed as one of the top 25 albums of 2012 by a wide selection of BBC music critics, DJ’s and radio presenters.

Reggae Music again, the only reggae album on the top 25, was ranked high on the list at number 7. The list also included Pink Friday by Nikki Minaj (#12) and top country & western group Alabama Shakes (#10).

Busy Signal’s deserved reputation as a hardcore dancehall deejay often overshadows his bringing a fresh tunefulness to the genre in recent years, expanding its scope and extending songs’ longevity. With Reggae Music Again he builds on all the clever musicality of 2010’s D.O.B. to produce an album that, appropriately for the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence, immerses itself in reggae music heritage.

It works because rather than attempting to do traditional reggae, Busy brings the music’s ideas and attitudes into his world, performing with confidence and invention without leaving his comfort zone. He and his musicians totally understand the vibes connecting the music’s various aspects with its audience, and (re)create them in an entirely modern setting. Thus his singjay vocals can be more sing than jay this time without any compromise.

Two tunes sum up this approach. On its surface 119 is pure dancehall, all sharp edges and brisk tempo; but it’s pulled back a couple of decades by subliminal touches of echo and a drum pattern which could be a bassline. Kingston Town, meanwhile, talks of a dark side of the city far removed from Lord Creator’s version, presenting itself as a spooky repurposing of dub technique and deejay toasting.

By using everything the modern studio has to offer the album stays contemporary, yet by employing musicians such as Robbie Lyn, Dean Fraser and Kirk Bennett for a more traditional feel, Reggae Music Again bridges Jamaican music’s digital divide. Modern Day Slavery and Fire Ball are multi-layered roots music: the former builds on a clever organ and tops off with understated spin echo; the latter uses horns to bring an underlying swing to the sequenced beats.

Lovers rock is present and updated with Royal Night, stitched together with a killer guitar line, and on Jah Love, which adds an intriguing choral element to some cool beats. Pop reggae gets a bright’n’breezy look in with the title track and Run Weh, while Comfort Zone is a delicate acoustic mix that Busy’s righteous vocal keeps rooted in the dancehall.

The only time anything sounds at all derivative is when Wicked Men draws heavily on Lee Perry and Niney, and Part of Life conjures up vintage Black Uhuru. But there’s enough updating to make these pieces his own.

Really, Reggae Music Again is far more than what it seems to be billed as, namely “Busy Signal changes style”. It’s an important evolution of dancehall, connecting it to the timeline of Jamaican music, then pushing forwards into the 21st century.

Bounty Killer freed of gun, assault charges

Iconic Dancehall superstar, Bounty Killer can breathe easy today after a slew of charges stemming from a five-year old case has been dropped.

Charges of illegal possession of firearm, assault at common-law and unlawful wounding against Bounty Killer were dropped when the internationally-acclaimed deejay appeared in Kingston’s Gun Court on Monday. A former policeman and co-accused in the matter, Calis Bowen was also freed of the aforementioned charges.

The charges were in relation to a 2007 incident in the Alliance founder and Bowen allegedly assaulted an off-duty police officer along St. Lucia Ave/ in New Kingston. This after the policeman left a club and noticed that a section of the roadway was blocked. Reports then emerged that shots were fired at the off-duty police officer and Bounty Killer pointed a gun in the law enforcement official’s face.

However, the allegations against Bounty and Bowen were withdrawn by The Crown during Monday’s hearing after it was revealed that evidence given by the complainant was contradicted by the statement of a senior police officer.

An ecstatic Bounty Killer expressed his pleasure with the decision, telling IRIE FM, “I’m feeling so relieved right now. It was really a burden on my head the last five years ‘cause it was a serious case.”

He added, “I was really innocent…what’s being said in court is not what is not the truth…it was really a fabricated story…I just feel good and I know that Mama is watching down on me.For now, is just straight positiveness mi deh pon on the path to greatness.”

The news comes days after Bounty Killer appeared on CVMTV’s OnStage in which he clarified his issues with ‘Gaza’ artiste, Tommy Lee as well as his present relationship with long-time protégé, Mavado, amongst other issues.

NEWS: TAG TEAM CLASHES SET FOR STING

With patrons anxiously awaiting this year’s staging of Sting, organisers have stepped up their game by intensifying the competitive spirit with the introduction of tag-team clashes.

The already monstrous anticipation being carried for this year’s event is now amplified, as patrons can expect to witness top-flight acts in lyrical confrontation simultaneously.

Two teams have already been confirmed for the clashes. Team one comprises Tony ‘Mentally Ill’ Matterhorn and Merciless, who will face off against The Original One Teet, Gold Teet Don Gorgon Ninja Man and KipRich.

At any time during the clashes, either team can call for assistance from another artiste to help them win the lyrical war.

Speaking with THE STAR, Matterhorn stated that although he and Merciless might be seen as the underdogs, he is confident that they will be victorious.

“The four a we lyrically dangerous but mi know me and Merciless a win the clash. We nah go need fi call nobody fi assistance. Tell Ninja Man and KipRich to keep away, a better dem stay far! Who sees trouble and run come inna it? Who does that? It look like a dat Ninja Man and KipRich waan do, so make dem come. “ Ninja Man, on the other hand, said he is ready and willing to lyrically kill any and everyone.

“Anyting dem send come we a go lyrically kill it. Mi sure to God say KipRich alone can take on di two a dem deh. Dem a go lyrically dead inna Jam World. War dem want, war dem a go get,” he said.

Adding, “Matterhorn never kill nobody yet cause Twin of Twins a nuh nobody fi people kill. Mi not even smoke cigarette cause dat a bad habit, so mi nuh know whe Matterhorn a go. NEWS: TOMMY LEE BOOED TWICE IN ONE NIGHT

Reports are that it was an apparent weekend of boos for Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta.

It is said that artiste was booed twice in one night at two separate events for dissing veteran Dancehall artiste Bounty Killer. It is said that the first occurrence took place at popular weekend party where it is said that Tommy Lee had the support of the crowd until he decided to diss Bounty and then the boos came roaring after.

Nonetheless, it is said that Tommy Lee was not discouraged as he continued to perform getting back a few forwards before he exit the stage.

However, he later attended another popular weekend party and it was déjà vu for him all over again. Tommy Lee was again greeted with another set of boos after dissing the Grung Gaad who was reportedly at the event.

It is said that Bounty later hit the stage alongside Baby Cham and the two were reportedly well received.

NEWS: BUSY SIGNAL SET FOR STING, RELEASES NEW MATERIAL

Fresh out of a U.S. federal prison, prominent Dancehall/Reggae superstar, Busy Signal is waiting no time re-ingratiating himself within the Jamaican music scene as he’s set to perform at STING 2012.

Rife speculation persisted that Busy could appear on STING’s lineup when the show takes place on December 26 (Boxing Day) in Portmore, the self-professed Hothead pleased his legions of hardcore Dancehall fans by announcing his intention to appear at Jamworld. The decision was confirmed in a video message by Busy Signal which aired during the official STING 2012 launch on Wednesday night.

It will be Busy Signal’s first liv performance in Jamaica since 2008 and sees the highly-acclaimed entertainer join a star-studded lineup that includes Mavado, Popcaan, Da’Ville, Romain Virgo, Gyptian, Etana, I-Wayne, Khago, Aidonia, Tony Matterhorn, Tommy Lee and Ninja Man. The official STING poster features Busy and the full lineup of artists was also released at the launch. In the video message, Busy Signal expressed his excitement about being on the STING lineup and promises an electrifying performance once appears.

Meanwhile, Busy Signal has shown little rust musically since his comeback, dropping a slew of new material as he re-asserts himself within the music scene. Songs such as Come Shock Out and Tink Man a Idiot have already been met with positive receptions from fans as he speaks to his experiences while serving a six month sentence in a Minnesota penitentiary on a charge of absconding bail.

He followed that up with Jailhouse Nuh Nice, Bout It, Defense and Jail Juice, all recorded within the last two weeks.

NEWS: BOUNTY KILLER SAYS "NO TO STING"

Any hope that Dancehall superstar, Bounty Killer will perform at STING 2012 seems all but dashed after the ‘War Lord’ confirmed his intention to skip the popular stage show.

The Alliance leader, who initially was on theSTING lineup, declared that he would not perform at STING following 'disrespectful' comments made by the show’s lead promoter,Isaiah Laing in an interview, implying that ‘Gaza’ deejay and current rival, Tommy Lee Sparta had a good chance of defeating him in a clash.

Though speculation within Dancehall circles was rife that Bounty Killer was bluffing, the ‘Grung Gaad’ confirmed during a radio interview on Wednesday that he was serious. The iconic entertainer stated that his STINGdeposit was returned a week and half ago and the contract originally signed to do the show is now null and void.

"I've said it previously that I'm not gonna do STING because of certain insults that was thrown at me. To this day, nothing has been reconciled," he said.

This now puts to rest any possibility of a headline clash between Bounty Killer and Tommy Leeafter weeks of building up. The two deejays have been at odds ever since comments Bounty made via Twitter in which he questioned artistes who made demonic references in their songs. This later led Tommy Lee to record a scathing diss aimed in Bounty direction, called Goat Head, triggering a series of disses between the two.

Bounty Killer said that he's not interested in a clash with Tommy Lee because he's 'bigger than that.'

"I'm not interested anymore, I'm not interested in clashing with no little insect artiste," he said."That's where them trying to take it and I'm bigger than that."

The official launch of STING 2012 took place last night in Kingston, unveiling the official poster for the show. This year’s show will be held on December 26 (Boxing Day) at Jamworld in Portmore, St. Catherine and will feature high-profile acts such as Mavado, Popcaan, Aidonia, Sizzla, Khago, Ninja Man and Kiprich, amongst many others.

Though he is passingo n this year's show, Bounty Killer has not ruled out hte possibility of doing STING in the future.

"I'm not gonna say I won't ever do it again, it's a concert that I like to express my 'gladiatorism,'but, at this moment, unfortunately, the promoters messed it up."

NEWS: BLACK RYNO BROTHER KILLED METERS AWAY FROM HIM - NOV. 2012

The brother of former Portmore Empire deejay Romaine ‘Black Ryno’ Anderson was shot and killed metres away from him on the weekend, THE STAR understands.

Reports are that sometime after 3 a.m. on Sunday, Black Ryno and a group left a dance in the Maxfield Avenue area and were on their way home when they decided to stop and speak with friends along Waltham Park Road.

THE STAR was told that the deejay’s brother, Kurtis ‘Tatty’ Bucker, stood some metres away while the entertainer was talking to a group of friends.

Our news team gathered that two unknown assailants approached Bucker and brandished a firearm before opening fire hitting him several times before he fell to the ground.

Dwayne Cole, Ryno’s road manager, gave THE STAR this account.

He said, “When the shot dem fire, some people run and some just get flat – when dem come back on the scene, di deejay see him bredda a lay inna blood, so dem tek him up and on dem way to the hospital he died.”

Sources close to the entertainer have since disclosed that rumours have been circulating that Bucker was killed in a case of mistaken identity.

THE STAR was told that the Mi Lef deejay is still in shock and traumatised about the entire incident.

Cole expressed, “Di artiste is human yu know. Tatty was a part of Ryno’s street team, he’s still in shock since the incident, talking to himself. He needed time to meditate, so as you may have noticed him turn off his phones.”

The road manager continued, “Whenever I speak to him he constantly ask why me? Why my family?”

He further said that the deejay would be taking a break in an effort to recover from his loss.

Sources at the Hunts Bay police confirmed reports of the fatal shooting and advised our news team that an investigation is ongoing.

THE STAR was told that Black Ryno also lost another brother to violence about two years ago.

The deejay has upcoming performances in Antigua next month along with a host of local shows and appearances including Sting on Boxing Day.

During his expected brief time-out from the scene, fans of the entertainer are being encouraged to listen out for his releases.

These include multiple tracks for Markus Records including Wine Me and Bare Gyal and soon-to-be released tracks from Seanizzle Records.

NEWS: VYBZ KARTEL RECEIVES BAIL ON YET ANOTHER CHARGE - NOV. 2012

Dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel, was granted $3 million bail today with relation to one of the murder charges against him.

Bail was offered by Supreme Court judge, Justice Bertram Morrison in relation to the case involving the murder of St. Catherine businessman, Barrington Burton.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, has been ordered to report to the Constant Spring Police Station everyday as part of the conditions of his bail.

The bail application was made in chambers by his attorneys, Tom Tavares-Finson and Christian Tavares-Finson.

However, he will not be able to take up the bail offer as he has another case – relating to the August murder of Clive Williams – pending in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s (RM) Court.

Williams was beaten and stabbed at a house in Havendale, St. Andrew.

Kartel will return to the RM court tomorrow, when the matter is set to be called up.

The lawyers are also planning to make a bail application in relation to that case.

With imagery of a highly publicized off-stage incident still fresh in his mind, internationally regarded Dancehall superstar, Mr.Vegas seeks to eliminate some of that visual elements as the scene of said incident is now up for sale.

A month after Mr. Vegas allegedly caught his baby mama having sex with another man in front of his infant daughter, the Sweet Jamaica singer will sell the premises in which that act occurred. The Florida-based town-house, estimated at US$129,000, is up for grabs according to Mr. Vegas, who announced his decision to sell the property on Monday in a radio interview.

The house gained notoriety after pictures of the act were captured by hidden cameras inside the property, and later circulated on the internet. The photos not only showed Vegas’ ex-girlfriend getting it on with her lover in his bed, but also showed the singjay’s one and a half year old daughter wandering into the room, stumbling on their rendezvous.

According to Mr. Vegas, he has decided to sell his town-house given the negative energy felt while living there as well as ramifications of the cheating scandal that have remained with him ever since.

Nevertheless, Mr. Vegas has been using the experience as fodder for his music as he has penned two tracks since: Bare Tingz and Rise Again. Mr. Vegas unveiled the official video for Bare Tingz on Saturday, which features footage captured of the controversial saga.

NEWS: Tiana being over priced by booking agencies - NOV. 2012

With the Dancehall Duchess asserting herself as one of the genre's emerging acts, it seems that a few promoters are trying to capitalize on her royal status within the industry.

Dancehall star, Tiana has allegedly been the subject of attempted scamming by promoters, locally and internationally. One source, who recently travelled from Africa, told Tiana's manager, Carlington 'OutAroad' Wilmot that unscrupulous persons are over charging the artiste for upcoming shows.

Additionally, one promoter also told Tiana's manager of a specific case, when a booking agency charged US$20,000 for her services in Africa. However, after a price of US$15,000 was seemingly agreed to, the booking agent relayed that Tiana will be not available for the date anymore, but they could offer three other artistes affiliated with their company for a similar price.

This isn't just happening to Tiana with overseas agencies, but such excessive pricing has also occurred locally for the Dancehall Duchess. Not only have some local promoters been overcharging her, they have been doing so in an effort to book persons who are signed with their agencies.

Meanwhile, many persons have been booking dub plate sessions for Tiana without her consent as producers have inquired her on social media about these sessions that they paid for. Industry players are being urged not to pay money to these unscrupulous persons.

Nevertheless, these apparent politics won't deter Tiana from closing out 2012 with a bang as she recently released singles such as Mine Di Dog Bite Yuh (Dog Bite Riddim) - Produced by Washroom Entertainment).

Additionally, Tiana features on the soon-to-be released, OutARoad produced, Hot Pursuit Riddim, which also features acts such as deejay of the year contender, Konshens and his rising protégés, Darrio as well as Delus, amongst many others.

NEWS: DJ SUNSHINE STALKED - NOV. 2012

Dancehall artiste/radio disc jockey DJ Sunshine is being stalked. According to the disc jockey, for several weeks now she has been followed on social networks and physically by an apparently troubled individual.

Sunshine also received lengthy sexually laced messages from the man.

"It's somebody that comes to Irie FM from time to time to drop of music. So it's a situation where I ended up speaking to him out of courtesy, then it started to get disgusting and he began coming to the station at least once per week," she said.

"He also sent so many messages on Facebook it could fill a book. As a public figure, you always have people making approaches saying they want to marry you and stuff like that, but this one was very different. He was freaking me out and his messages were graphic and explicit. He was saying some real sexual creepy stuff that he wanted to do to me," she disclosed.

DJ Sunshine also told The WEEKEND STAR that her stalker even showed up at her events.

"Sometimes I would be at an event and he would just appear behind me, so I just had the feeling that I was being followed and it made me very uncomfortable, especially with all the things going around with rapists now," she said.

DJ Sunshine says she reported the matter to the Ocho Rios Police Station, and she was advised to place a restraining order on the alleged stalker. She also said the matter was communicated to the other staff members at Irie FM and a photo of the alleged stalker was erected on the premises to alert others.

"Females just be careful and be aware of your surroundings. Take the necessary precautions afforded by the law and go to the police," she warned.

Despite all her troubles, Sunshine says she has not closed her Facebook profile.

"Facebook is a place where I keep contact with my fans and I don't have a phobia for it now. I am still on Facebook," she said.

The WEEKEND STAR contacted the Ocho Rios Police Station to confirm that DJ Sunshine had in fact made the report. However, we were told that the investigating officer was unavailable for comment.

DJ Sunshine last performed at City Jam held in Riverton, where she delivered a decent set.

"At City Jam I did very well, I feel like I have grown as a performer," she said.

The DJ/artiste is currently working with TJ Records and is expected to play at Hennessy Artistry tomorrow night.

NEWS: BEENIE MAN STILL UNDER PRESSURE BY GAY RIGHTS GROUPS, ANOTHER SHOW PROTESTED - NOV. 2012

The gay community still has beef with Beenie Man despite his past public apology to them earlier this year.

Just weeks after a California based gay rights group threatened to protest a show in that state that the dancehall king is booked for, another group, the Gay Liberation Network (GLN), has also decided to turn up the heat on the deejay.

Beenie Man, who is booked to perform at The Shrine in Chicago, may see that show cancelled if the GLN have their ways. The show, scheduled for November 22, is being promoted by head of the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), Ephraim Martin.

The group issued a letter to the promoters of the show demanding a meeting with the intention to have Beenie Man ousted.

This is what they say in the letter:

“I wish it were possible to say that this artist performs music that is simply engaging entertainment with a great beat and sometimes gritty lyrics. Sadly, this is not the case due to Beenie Man’s history of frequent calls for violence against gays and lesbians. Such calls are anything but ‘entertainment’ when directed against a vulnerable and oppressed minority.”

“Because of his advocacy of violence toward our people and his checkered and inconsistent relationship to the global LGBT community, we respectfully request that management of The Shrine show its respect for our community and rescind its offer to have Beenie Man perform at its venue. We would be happy to sit down with you to discuss this matter further.”

This was the same venue Mavado recently put on a massive performance without incident.

Urban Islandz tried to reach out to Beenie Man and the promoters for a comment but our calls were not returned.

An awful rumor went viral today over Blackberry Messenger, The rumor told tales of  Adijah Palmer AKA Vybz Kartel's mother was found dead inside her Portmore home. The rumor left the singers fans in shock and disbelief, with room for a lot of questions about how or what was the cause of death.

Calls were made and sources who were neighbors of the singers mother gave us confirmation that she was alive and well. This is the third rumor that has surfaced this year since the incarceration of the dejay, even with Vybz off the street his name still stands out in the media, is this a good reflection on his musical image if he is to return to the streets and continue his career?

NEWS: SELECTOR BEATEN AND SHOT FOR PLAYING TOO MANY TOMMY LEE SONGS - NOV. 2012

The weekend Star understands that one man was seriously injured at a 'wake' held in the community of Flankers, Montego Bay, St James, after thugs demanded that a selector stopped playing Tommy Lee songs.

Information reaching our news team is that the community now rests in fear, as there is an apparent divide in support for the dancehall artiste. It is reported that a wake for an elderly woman was in session on Saturday night, when the selector was asked not to play anymore Tommy Lee tunes.

The selector, our news team was told, did not take heed to the warning, as another song for the artiste was selected, following which the said selector was subsequently roughed up by a hostile group of people.

Several persons reportedly intervened, and the group left the area and returned, opening fire on the gathering. Our news team understands the incident took place in a section of the community called Vietnam, the zone which is considered Tommy Lee's 'Sparta Base'. A resident of the community expressed, "True ting man. Man nose get shoot off, finger gone and mi hear even ears! ... The irony is dat is dung pon Tommy Lee base." gunshot wounds

THE WEEKEND STAR was told that when the group returned, several shots rang out and when the shooting subsided the man was found suffering from gunshot wounds all over his body.

Our news team was told that he was rushed to the hospital, however, the extent of his injuries are unknown.

THE WEEKEND STAR spoke to a member of the gathering who expressed, "Mi nah lie to yuh a town mi leave from go MoBay and mi never know a so di yute dem dung deh gwan over certain things ... It serious we haffi tek weh we self and go elsewhere that night ... A morning we wake and hear say di breda drop out ... then we hear afterward that him nuh dead, he is in serious condition in hospital." A senior officer attached to the Montego Bay Police Division confirmed the shooting incident, however, he was tight-lipped when quizzed on the motive for the shooting. He said, "The police are aware of such reports and that at least two persons have been held so far for questioning in relation to the shooting ... I was not on duty on the weekend so I could not confirm the reason for the attack."

NEWS: SEAN PAUL SAYS "I AM DONE WITH DANCEHALL" ARTISTE MOVING TOWARDS POP MUSIC - NOV. 2012

With over10 million album sales and a Grammy under his belt, Sean Paul is is easily one of the most successful dancehall stars of all time, But now that Sean Paul has made his name and left his imprint on mainstream dancehall, he is looking to expand his artistry to another  genre of music.

In a recent interview the "Get Busy'' singer  had this to say;

“I have reached a point where I don’t have to prove myself to anybody in dancehall or reggae music,” Sean Paul said. “I’m up there with the best of them, so right now I’m just expanding. I’m trying to bridge the gap, broaden my artistry.”

“I noticed that of late a lot of pop music has had dancehall influences, so I asked some big name producers like Stargate, Rico Love, DJ Ammo and Benny Blanco to make their interpretation of a dancehall beat.”

Sean Paul has done collbs with some of the biggest name is the music industry today, names such as;

Beyonce, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole, Blu Cantrell, and Alexis Jordan among others. He further went on to say;

“I’ve always said two is better than one. Collaborating helps creative exchanges happen and helps take the tempo to a different level altogether,” Sean Paul said.

“I have however noticed that most of my biggest hits are with women artists – Blu Cantrell, Beyoncé, Keyshia Cole, Alexis Jordan. So, it’s all about the chemistry and I am a lucky man. Collaboration is the best way to expand,” he added.

The Jamaican badboy  is  currently touring India and promoting his latest album 'Tomahawk Technique.'

NEWS: MACKA DIAMOND FIRES SHOTS AT LADY SAW, DIVAS TAKE ON LYRICAL FEUD - NOV. 2012

 It is no secret that Macka Diamond was taking shots at Lady Saw in her new single “Mi Bless.” Pay attention to the lyrics of her song below to catch the drift.

“After mi sing mi song say mi a 40 plus, Mi see some gal pick it up, she mussi Spartacus, But lowe me and clean up yuh yard fuss, A nuh me yuh man breed so why a me yuh waan cuss, Mi bless, yes mi womb bless, A wha do some gal, Yuh nuh see dem clueless,” Macka Diamond deejay.

According to Macka Diamond, her song “40 And Fabolous” was in no way a diss towards Lady Saw, however, the dancehall queen took issue with the single.

“When me a try do good, is like dem waan draw me down,” Macka Diamond said.

After hearing the song, Lady Saw released a new single

 “Age Is Just A Number” which many view as a counteraction to Macka Diamond’s “40 And Fabolous.”“Age is just a number, aint nothing wrong with 42, we aint getting younger, so what the hell is up with you, the new 40 a di new 20, unnu a gwaan like mi past century, yo know mi age, the whole a unnu hop off a mi, cuz nuff young gal dem no hot like a mi,” Lady Saw deejay.

Lady Saw denied that the single was a shot at Macka Diamond since it was recorded earlier in the year.
“I did that song in February and I did that song because they were focusing so much on my age during an ER interview. Then mi hear say Macka Diamond people dem a call the producer say she want the riddim cuz she hear say mi diss her,” Saw said.
Saw also said she and Macka Diamond are no longer friends.

“Macka and I aren’t friends, we were friends before but things happen and we aren’t friends again. I have no reason to diss her,” Lady Saw said.

NEWS: Twin of Twins to unveil ‘Stir It Up’ Volume 10 this month, offer prelude to CD - Nov. 12

Prominent comedic duo turned deejays, Twin of Twins will aim to satisfy fans ahead of the release of their milestone volume of the Stir It Up series with a prelude to the highly-anticipated CD.

The Twins, Patrick ‘Curly Lox’ Gaynor andPaul ‘Tu-Lox’ Gaynor are planning to unveil volume 10 of their skit-laden series, Stir It Upat the end of this month. However, the duo will release a prelude to Stir It Up Vol. 10 this week, dubbed Stir It Up: Vol. 9 ½.

According to Patrick Gaynor, this mini-version of the series will feature their unique takes on today’s hot topics within Dancehall music and Jamaican pop culture, condensed into 10-15 minutes of comedy. Reports are suggesting that those topics include the cheating scandal involving Mr. Vegas’ baby mother and Captain Barkey’s untimely death in New York.

Gaynor branded Stir It Up: Vol. 9 ½ as a teaser to Stir It Up: Vol. 10 while revealing that the CD’s release was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy’s arrival in the island.

As for what content Stir It Up: Vol. 10 has to offer, Gaynor gave little detail, given that they are still editing parts of the compilation. However, he revealed that their milestone edition features actual stories and is more of an audio movie instead of being a compilation of radio interviews and satirical court hearings like past CDs.

Stir It Up: Vol. 9, release in June 2011, featured mock court hearings replicating some of Dancehall’s biggest controversies at the time, including Buju Banton’s conviction on drug charges, Bounty Killer’s alleged ‘hammer’ incident involving an ex-girlfriend and Vybz Kartel’s supposed stronghold on Jamaican society.

Meanwhile, Twin of Twins are continuing to hit the studio as they’ve found success with singles such as So Much Things To Say and Jah Is (featuring Jahvinci), which have been getting heavy rotation, according to the duo.

Furthermore, the Twins will be taking their act to various continents at the start of 2013 as they will host shows in Africa as well as North America (Canada and the United States) between January and March.
